This year the Tim Fix Scholarship Fund isn't selling a "holiday card" but a full fledged Christmas card. Our 2009 design is based on one I illustrated some years back for Saint Mary's Church. The baby Jesus is my great-nephew Ryan and the little angel is Sophie, a friend's granddaughter. The flowers that grace the border are "Star of Bethlehem." The beautiful inside verse was written by a member of the church. I've included it below:
On the darkness, rides a whisper
Radiant splendor lights the night,
Speaks the hope, the Father’s promise
We are children of the light.
In honor of Tim Fix and Joe Bee, annual Christmas cards are created and sold with the profits going to the Tim Fix Scholarship Fund. Tim and Joe were Eastern Illinois University wresters. They died tragically in a drowning accident at EIU in May 1996.
Tim’s parents created a scholarship fund in their son’s memory to benefit college students. To date over $125,000 has been dispersed through the fund.
